RISE to the Challenge!
During Autumn 2022, we are inviting Hagar supporters to RISE FOR FREEDOM. Each supporter can choose a local challenge event to take part in to raise money globally for the work of Hagar.
No matter your fitness level, this event welcomes all.
– choose and activity – run, walk, cycle, ride, swim
– choose a distance – 5k, 10k, 20k or even more!
– choose a day
…then get fundraising!
Once you’ve decided how you’re going to take part, register your RISE FOR FREEDOM event with Cheryl (admin@hagaruk.org) and receive your fundraising pack with all the information you need.

Why RISE FOR FREEDOM?
By joining or supporting RISE FOR FREEDOM you are enabling the vital work of rescue run by Hagar in Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore and Afghanistan.
It will make a difference to those like Trang.
Trang’s family were never truly happy. Working far away, her father was rarely home and when he was he beat her mother and blamed her.
Trang was expected to be a gentle, cheerful, respectful and smart daughter so from a young age she tried to please everyone in her family to keep the peace. So when she suffered abuse, she just kept silent.
Hagar Vietnam first met Trang when she called their hotline during a panic attack stemming from her fathers verbal abuse. Hagar supported her with emergency accommodation and psychological counselling.
With Hagars help she has finally started to heal.
“It was like I always had a mask on and I didnt know how to be honest and vulnerable with others, maybe I didnt know where to start.” At Hagar, she finally could say it out loud that “I am healing now!”
