At Hagar, we are working to see communities free and healed from the trauma of slavery, human trafficking, and abuse. We work hard with those who have suffered these human rights abuses. We also work hard to change the cultures and mindsets that means such attrocities exist in our society.

Over the past year we have had a huge impact through the work we do reaching more than 664,000 beneficiaries. We even managed to reach more than 8.8 million through social and traditional media raising awareness of slavery, human trafficking, and abuse. You can read all about our 2021 Impact here.

You are invited to join in this impact reflecting and discussing this topic in our May Book Club.

How to join in….

– Gather a group of friends, family, your small group or book club.

– Order and read ‘Half the Sky’ by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn.

– Register your group with admin@hagaruk.org to receive your book club questions and a copy of our 2021 Impact Report.

– Meet to discuss the book and take a look at our Impact Report 2021 and join the movement to ensure that all are free from slavery, human trafficking, and abuse.

This isn’t primarily a fundraising event. It is more about grappling with the issues of human trafficking, slavery, and abuse against women and children. However, you may want to suggest a donation from each person for the discussion night that could go towards the work of Hagar. www.justgiving.com/campaign/hagarbookclub

We’d love you to join in with us this May!
